Fast Healthy Recipes

So if fast food is not an option, what can the time crunched mom serve for dinner in lieu of the drive thru? Eating healthy doesn’t mean you have to spend hours slaving away in the kitchen. There are plenty of 15 minute and 30 minute recipes out there that are both delicious and nutritious.

Here are my favorite websites for great recipes:

http://www.allrecipes.com

You’ll find the recipe of the day, a quick and easy section (15 minute meals), and a dinner in an instant section if 15 minutes is too long! Recipes like easy baked tilapia will help you lose weight after baby without sacrificing your taste buds. You can print out recipes as 3x5 or 4x6 cards, and you can email favorite recipes to friends in the form of a cute e-card.

I love the nutritional search feature on this site. You can search for recipes with high fiber (5 g or more), high protein (30 g or more), low carb (15 g or less), or low fat (12 g or less). You can also search for diabetic friendly meals or recipes that take 30 minutes or less.

Food never looked so beautiful! This gorgeous site promotes healthy living through and through. You’ll find recipes like beef with sugar snap peas and various sweet potato recipes that even your picky toddler will try. Hit "food" then "browse recipes" and you’ll find a quick and easy tab and a healthy diet tab to get your creative juices flowing.

Each recipe like party mix with almonds and apricots has all the nutritional information listed at the bottom to take the guesswork out.

Enjoy these three websites regularly and you’ll be cooking your way to a thinner you!
